Theater now upgraded to 4K Laser at AMC. Official site just hasn’t been updated yet. Massive improvement!

Does anyone know when the new laser projectors are schedule to he installed here. Freehold and Monmouth AMC got them recently and Brick is scheduled as per the ‘Coming Soon’ page on the AMC website. This theater is in dire need of the upgrade!

These big companies are happy to not have anyone up there anymore. At all the theatres I have worked at over the past 43 years I have always given 150% in my presentation. Now you have a AMC that has a tech who covers 300 screens. Its too much for one person.

Yea, so is there literally no need for a projectionist nowadays? I can’t say the analog days were any better, really. Movies locally always kinda looked crappy to my recollection.

JB1981, welcome to the world without projectionists.

Audio was fine, nothing to write home about. I saw the movie at Marquee Orchard 10 in TR… sound was much better but the screen was dark there too and it the projector didn’t seem like it was calibrated properly. The IMAX at AMC Monmouth was immensely better from an image quality standard. And the sound, hoo-boy. Probably a little too loud for my tastes but it was pretty incredible.

I saw Avengers: Endgame here opening weekend in auditorium 9 and the screen was so dark it was ridiculous. I contacted AMC through the online chat service but I have no idea if they will even address the issue. The theater manager told me the equipment was just checked recently and was certified by a tech. I’ve since seen the movie in other theaters locally and the image was much brighter and clearer so I feel confident saying it was an issue with that particular theater. It’s a shame how much of a crap-shoot seeing a movie in theaters is these days.

Understanding that this is not the same theatre, does anybody know anything about the original Brick Plaza Cinema? Opened as a single in 1964… just curious if anybody knows where in the center this theatre was.

This theater is being renovated with recliners at the end of the year much like its sister theater in Seacourt. Name should be changed to Loews and not Loew’s.

This building opened on August 29th, 1997. It was one of many 10+ screen multiplexes built by Loews in the 90’s after Seacourt, Monmouth Mall, and Freehold. It has sloped seating in all auditoriums, two (now unused) auxiliary concession stands, and 5.1 surround in 5 auditoriums (1,4,8,9,10)

Two largest auditoriums seat 400 (9&10) Went fully digital in May 2011. 5 auditoriums present features in 3D

I haven’t lived in South Jersey in a while, but this city was always called Brick Township then. I don’t know if it also goes by Brick.
