The Mersey Theatre initially advertised itself in 1911 (as indicated in the October 7th, 1975 grand opening ad for the Midtown Trolley). Grand opening advertisements are posted in 1911, 1920, 1927, and October 7th, 1975.

When it was called the Rialto Theatre it seated 820 people.
