Regent Cinema

Located in Murwillumbah, in the northeast of New South Wales. The Regent Theatre was built in an Art Deco style, opening on 4th July 1947. It was designed by Scottish born architect George Rae and seating was provided for 999 in stalls and circle levels.

The Regent Cinema was badly damaged by a fire in 1983. The stalls area was converted into a supermarket. After repairs were made to the building, a 300-seat cinema was created in the former circle area, which still retains charm and character. Specialises in a mix of mainstream and art-house movies. Circle foyer now the box-office and encompasses a cafe/restaurant. The pizzas are great!, and can be brought to you during the movie. Bean bags at the front of the seating area keeps the kids (and young lovers)happy!
