The Grove Theater

The Grove Theatre was opened by the Jefferson Amusement Co. on January 18 1940 with Mickey Rooney in “Out West with the Hardy’s”. By 1923 it was operated by Paramount Pictures Inc. through their subsidiary Julius Gordon. On October 16, 1946 it was renamed Lyric Theatre. It had closed by 1950.

I was born in 1946,
and I went with my parents often, when I was very young
Movies there were 5 and 10 cents
I vaguely remember seeing Bambi there
