The Star Theatre in Ipoh, Malaysia once seated up to 1150 moviegoers. It closed in 1989 and was converted into a nightclub. After dancing its way into the 1990s, the former Star closed again, seemingly for good. Like the Odeon in Penang, it too has become a boarding house for rats.
