Opened with 10-screens October 27, 1989, the theatre had 3,200 seats, and was closed by AMC in 2007. It was renovated by Emagine Entertainment to have 1,900 seats, and reopened on December 21, 2010 with 1,900-seats. In 2017 three more screens were added, one of them is a PLF called Emax. In April 2020 while closed during the Covid-19 Pandemic the old seats were being removed to installed larger heated seats.

This theater was closed by AMC sometime after 2007. According to a recent blog item in the Detroit Free Press, it is going to reopen in November, 2010 after renovations and be operated by Emagine Entertainment.
