Clemson Theater

One of two historic theaters in this small town in western North Carolina along with the Co-Ed Theater next door (still open - beautifully restored).

There were some efforts to save the Clemson Theater, but funding was a problem along with the condition of the building. The theater was torn down in the 1990’s and a small park is now on the site of the theater on the corner of W. Main Street and N. Caldwell Street.

Correction: The location of this theater was Main and Caldwell sts. not Main and Broad as stated above. I am gathering more info. on this theater from old time residents and the local historical society. I will post additional infomation when I have it. Charlie Story

A great exterior photograph of this theater and the Co-Ed next door is posted in the box office window of the Co-Ed.

It’s been a few years, but I’m wondering if Mr. Charlie Story found any more information about the Clemson? Involved in a historic mural project in the little park where the Clemson used to be and would love some input!
