The site of the former UA--pacific Place Cinema

The UA Queensway was on the first floor of the Pacific Place in the Queensway district. It opened to business on 22nd March, 1989 and first run movies were shown until its closure on 27th January, 2006. It was a luxurious cinema with spacious lobby and foyer. After it was closed, its interior was demolished and a new cinema–AMC-Pacific Place– was constructed in two of the four auditoriums of the former cinema. The new cinema opened on 9th December, 2006.

The United Artists Queensway Cinemas was designed by San Francisco architect Daniel T. Uesugi, and was one of at least three Hong Kong projects he designed for UA.
