The Camberwell Palace lies just left of centre on the postcard, on the left hand side of the road where Denmark Hill meets Orpheus Street, next door to a public house called The Golden Lion. (The façade is out of shot, around the corner.) The sidewall is very plain, devoid of any features apart from a line of balustrades along the roof with the name ‘Camberwell Palace’ below a figure of a lion in the centre. ‘Palace’ appears in tablature on an exposed rear wall.
