Feb. 1, 1968 photo and description credit The City of Iowa City Government. “The night The Strand Theater caught on fire. The theater would close soon after, with the last movie it showed being the Academy Award-nominated Audrey Hepburn film "Wait Until Dark.” The building would soon be demolished. Today, the space is now the walkway between the College Block Building and The Graduate Hotel are in the Ped Mall."
