1920s postcard via the I grew up in Hardin County, Iowa Facebook page.

While the first movie theater in Iowa Falls had opened in 1907 (the Bijou Theater, later renamed the Lyric Theatre), the first to be built specifically as a movie theater was the Rex Theater at 615 Washington Avenue in 1914. It continued in operation until 1954. By 2021 the building was in use as office space and an auction house for a real estate company.
