The El Portal theater in 1970. It was just remodeled a year or two earlier. It was owned by Cragin Industries. Ernie Cragin was mayor of las vegas in the 1940s. Mr. Cragin passed away in 1959 in his office above the theater. Horst Schmidt and Mrs. Lucille Cragin ran the Red Rock and the El Portal until they were sold. Horst was the adopted son of the Cragins. Horst was a good businessman and was good to work for. Lots of good memories.
