This was a small, fairly nondescript theatre in Goodyear. It had (I think) three screens and students and military got a discount. It closed when the Palm Valley 14 opened in the early 1990’s.

It’s now Brunswick Tri-City Bowl. Besides the bowling alley, there is a hair salon at the same address, but they may be renting part of the space from the lanes. Function should be bowling alley.

It was a small, three screen theater which was called the Avondale Cinema (Theater). It is a separate building from the bowling alley and Hair salon(and at one time restaurant)which are still there. When it first opened in 1987, I went there to see Predator. It wasn’t very big; honestly the theater was downright small(about a 80-100 seats in the smaller screens). But since there wasn’t any other theaters in town, and the closest one at the time was nearly 10 miles away in west Phoenix, I was excited that I could finally attend the theater in my hometown. When the Palm Valley 14 opened, it closed down. Today it is operating as a church. I will try to get photos soon.

The World of Life Christain center is listed at this address now, with the bowling alley and salon.

I just went there recently to a church service. The church uses the main screening area as their santuary, which seats about 150. The other two screens aren’t being used as much(if at all). Its a very nice, tidy facility. I wish the church could use the rest of the facility to show movies, even if its just family or christian movies. All the equipment and screens are still there, except they use a digital projector during the service. Nice church and friendly pastor. At least the facility is being used, and not collecting dust or being demolished.
