Grand opening ad posted.
The Willowbrook 8, and later known as Willowbrook 10, opened in 1987. This 24 plex replaced the Willowbrook 10 (and eventually the old General Cinema 6 Plex inside Willowbrook mall) on November 19, 1999.
The address of this theater is 17145 Tomball Parkway
Houston, TX 77064. When I just looked it up, it said “place closed” for some odd reason. Maybe someone mixed it up with the one it replaced.
This theater is across from the mall. It replaced both an AMC at the mall and one in another plaza across the street. The one at the mall I think was demolished since then, but I moved away in 1991.
This AMC opened in 1989 along with EXPO Design Center, Linens ‘N Things, and Mikasa (all closed now).
