The quaint auditorium of the Picture House. I used to occasionally carry out Managerial Relief Duties at the replacement modern ABC in Doncaster. Some of the ‘old timers’ had transferred from the Picture House and would bemoan its passing while saying “This place lacks the atmosphere of the old Picture House!”

Now, ironically, we old timers are saying that the multiplexes “…..lack the atmosphere of the old ABC”…….
