Another of the early four-plexes that opened in the Twin Cities. This one opened December 22, 1972 with “Pete ‘n’ Tillie” as an exclusive St. Paul showing on two screens.

The other auditoriums were screening “Oliver” and “Last House on the Left”.

Please note that this cinema opened in 1972 with FOUR screens, thus it was called Cina 4. You can check this out in the St. Paul Pioneer Press, 22. Dec 1972 page 15 for the advert.
Later a fifth screen was added. But the correct name at time of opening was indeed Cina 4!

For a few years it was a budget theater. China 5 closed soon after the Signal Hills 5 theater. In 2005, the theater was remodeled into a Goodwill Store.
