The Grand Theatre opened on Saturday, June 30, 1928, with Richard Dix in “Easy Come, Easy Go.” Sullivan had been home to several theaters before, but the last of those, the Illinois, closed its doors a little over a month before the Grand opened.

The Grand was owned and operated by Lee Norton in the 1950s. He also owned the Sullivan Drive-In on Route 32 at that time.

The TLTOTS was a wonderful place out in the middle of nowhere. Guy Little, the director, brought in some major talent and presented many of Broadways best musicals. The Little Theatre was a major cultural draw in Central Illinois and it was there that many people were first exposed to theater.
