When opened as the UA Cinemas I, II, III on August 4, 1972, this was Chico’s first multiplex theatre. On November 14, 1992 it was renamed North Valley Plaza 3. It was closed on July 5, 1998, part of the gradual withdrawal of the United Artists chain from Chico, a market it had dominated for decades. The former North Valley Plaza 3 has been somewhat altered and now houses a church.

As can be seen in the photo at the Butte Bible Fellowship website, this rather plain and boxy 1970s-style former triplex has been altered (no pun intended) at one end, so it looks like a church, but the theatre’s original entrance is recognizable around the corner.
