The Penn Cinema, near the Lancaster Airport, opened on November 17, 2006, with ten auditoriums and a total of 1,746 seats. In 2008, four additional auditoriums were added, with a total of more than 400 more seats. The 430-seat IMAX has a 70 foot wide by 40 foot tall screen.

This movie theatre exists because Paul Ketchum spearheaded it and he is the managing partner. The theatre is well attended and has a reputation for cleanliness, good customer service and great seats (‘high-back rockers’).

The locally-owned and operated Penn Cinema in Lititz was designed by the Philadelphia architectural firm JKR Partners. There are photos of this house, and of the operators' more recent multiplex at Wilmington, Delaware, on this page of the JKR’s web site.

JKR Partners have changed their name to JKRP Architects. Their web site has been reconfigured, but two photos of the Penn Cinema remain, and can now be found on this page.
