History of the Queen theatre – Cinema *November 20th, 1937 opened

*January 5th, 1948 badly damaged by a fire

  • July 14th, 1948 reopens

  • June 5th, 1969 reopened as Queen Cinema after major renovations.

  • April 16th, 1982 became Cinema I & II

  • July 25th, 1991 3rd screen opens

A recent article about this theatre indicates that it was originally built in 1937 and rebuilt in 1947, after a fire. Though still operating, it’s in serious need of renovation:
