Studio Theatre

The Studio Theatre opened on September 29, 1933 with Ronald Colman in “The Masquerader” & Ethel Waters in “Rufus Jones for President”. By 1957 it was operated by the Harry L. Nace Theatres chain. The building was demolished around 1980.

The building was originally the Goldwaters Mercantile, from about 1876. A year or two before demolition, the Studio was hosting community theater productions.

The Studio Theatre opened its doors on September 29, 1933 with Ronald Colman in “The Masquerader” along with Ethel Waters in “Rufus Jones for President”, a sportlight in “Who Said Weaker Box”, an unnamed Krazy Kat cartoon, and a Universal International Newsreel.
