Egyptian manager John Driscoll goes with the old “giant postcard” gambit sending one to Deanna Durbin with scores of patrons signing the opposite side of the behemoth card thanking her for the fine films that the Egyptian has played. The trick worked as Durbin received the card and Universal Studios publicity was on scene to get the picture.
