Located in the Dambley Building opposite the Court House Square, which had been remodeled into the 900-seat Capitol Theater to the plans of Shreveport based architect Edward A. George. It opened on December 7, 1925 with George O'Brien in “The Iron Horse”. It was equipped with a Barton 2 manual 4 ranks organ which was opened by organist Mrs. J.F. Murff. The Capitol Theater was closed on March 31, 1948.

Boxoffice Magazine of April 3, 1948, said that the Capitol Theatre had closed on March 31 that year. The building had been leased to Rubenstein’s Department Store and was to be remodeled for their use. The building had been converted into the theater in 1925.
