At 151 Pine Street in downtown Abilene was the Feb. 6, 1941 Grand Opening of the Bobby Walker Theatre in Abeline with “Maryland” and then the follow-up Linda Theater which had three different owners, the first of whom changed from Bobby Walker to Linda. The final owner threw in the towel in January of 1958 and then in September 1960, the Texan Hotel was being demolished and a footprint’s worth of buildings at the corner were excised including the Linda.
