Been to this theater a few times in the ‘80s. I remember seeing “Rain Man”, “Born on the Fourth of July” and “Desperate Hours” here, a few others but I can’t remember…there used to be an art show event in Millburn not far from this theater in those days and my mother always attended. I’d see a movie to kill the time, as I used to help her.

They recently updated all their screens and the lobby and the box office window.

Now, they’ve got just a table like marble as the box office, no window. They’ve updated their lobby so it goes all the way from where it used to be to the entrance of the men’s bathroom.

Also, they’ve upgraded all their theaters with new, smooth seats. BUT, this also caused the decrease in leg room for more seats. The arm rests are so small that they only go to my elbow’s. Bad decision on the seats imo.

I grew up in the neighboring town of Maplewood during the 1960’s and 1970’s and went to the Millburn Theatre (when it was one big theatre) on many occasions. One particular memory I have is going to the Millburn Theatre the night of the great NYC blackout of 1977 (July 13, 1977) with a friend and his parents. While viewing the movie, we were unaware the blackout had happened. I returned home from the movie only then to realize what had occured because the NYC TV stations were not broadcasting. Childhood memories!

This theater is in the same town where Anne Hathaway grew up in.

I was in this theater in 1978 and do not recall whether it was twinned at that time, but I do not think it was. Me and a friend went to go see the movie, The Boys in Company C.

I was in this a few times when Cineplex was running it. I think it was a twin then.
