This theater is still open as of 10/13. That being said, it seems as if some of the auditoriums are sitting idle as the showtimes are rather limited for a 16-screen theater.

From the Regal Cypress Creek website, “Due to Hurricane Ian, this theatre will be temporarily closing after 4pm September 27”

Regal Edwards Grand Palace Stadium 6 - 4767 Commons Way in Calabasas (closed 9/15/22);
Regal Crow Canyon - 2525 San Ramon Valley Blvd. in San Ramon (closed 9/14/22);
Regal Edwards Westpark - 3735 Alton Parkway in Irvine (closed 9/14/22);

Connecticut:
Regal Brass Mill 495 Union St. in Waterbury (open past 9/14) but closed September 25, 2022

Florida:
Regal Cypress Creek Station 16, 6415 N. Andrews Ave. in Fort Lauderdale (open past 9/14) though temporarily closed by Hurricane Ian on September 27th
Regal River City Marketplace Stadium 14 12884 City Center Blvd. in Jacksonville (closed 8/25/22)

Michigan:
Regal Lansing Mall Stadium 12 & RPX - 5330 West Saginaw Highway in Lansing (open past 9/14)

Missouri:
Regal Gravois Bluffs Stadium 12 - 754 Gravois Bluffs Blvd. in Fenton (open past 9/14) but closed September 25, 2022

Nevada:
Regal Colonnade Stadium 14 - 8880 South Eastern Ave. in Las Vegas (closed 9/14/22);

North Carolina:

Texas:
Regal UA Amarillo Star Stadium 14 - 8275 Amarillo Blvd. W in Amarillo (closed 9/14/22);
Regal Arbor @ Great Hills 9828 Great Hills Trail in Austin (open past 9/14) but closed Friday, 9/23/22 (!)
Regal Edwards West Oaks Mall 700 West Oaks Mall in Houston (open past 9/14) but closed September 25, 2022

Washington (State):
Regal Parkway Plaza 5910 South 180th St. in Tukwila (closed 9/14/22)

The locations that opened past 9/14 would likely be closed permanently on September 25 or September 28/29th and presumably had leases cleared for the month. There is little to no chance of any further operations at these locations. And only two remain as operational - Regal Lansing in Michigan and the temporarily closed Regal Cypress Creek in Florida

If you have gift cards, it might be time to use them. Though open, the theatre was one of 20 theaters approved for lease relief in a bankruptcy maneuver with Regal’s parent in bankruptcy protection. Most closed September 14, 2022 while others - like the Cypress - continued through the month hoping for a miraculous turnaround.

About Funscape: The owner of Montreal’s Cinémas Guzzo visited the Funscape in Cicero, NY and copied its idea for their Mega-Plex cinemas. These are still open as of 2017.

This theater was originally being built by Cobb theaters. Regal purchased the South Florida Cobb chain during the construction so it has always been a Regal theater. Interesting that years later the Cobb chain reappeared in Miami.

Scoot Funscape at Las Olas Riverfront was to the left of the escalators on the main level. I can not figure out why that theater never made it especially with all the condo’s downtown. It went from 23 to 15 after Sunrise cinema’s took it over then to 11 after Frank theaters took it over.

There appear to have been eight Funscape locations total: -Greenrbier 13, Chesapeake VA -Theatre open, Funscape now a gym

-Eastview Mall 13, Victor NY – Theatre open, Funscape appears to be empty.

-Cicero 13, Cicero NY – Theatre closed, both now a car dealership

-Brandywine Town Center 16, Wilmington DE – Theatre open, looks like Funscape was absorbed by mall.

-Green Hills 16, Nashville TN – Theatre open, can’t tell from Google what happened to Funscape

-West Town Mall 9, Knoxville TN – Theatre open, Funscape still kind of there as arcade room and decorative fun entrance to theatre.

-Cyrpress Creek Station 16, Ft Lauderdale FL – Theatre open, looks like Funscape remodeled into store fronts and gym.

-Las Olas 23, Ft Lauderdale FL – both closed, don’t know where in complex the Funscape was.

They tried it at the Las Olas 23 and it didn’t work there either.

It was the extensive gameroom/family fun center was actually called “FunScape”. Regal attempted to make this concept work at four other locations in the US.
