Located in the southeast London district of New Cross. The Crown Picture Theatre was a shop conversion and opened on 17th March 1910 with a seating capacity for around 300 on long wooden benches. Tip-up seating was installed in 1912, reducing the capacity to 187.

The Crown Cinema was closed when its licence expired on 31st December 1914. Probably not renewed due to World War I conditions. It returned to retail use, then went into government use in 1930, and was last used as a post office into at least the late-1980’s. Now demolished, an extension of the adjacent Addy + Stanhope School has been built on the site.
