The suburb Outremeuse in Liege is a very particular quarter ,equivalent of "quarter Rive Gauche" in Paris. This suburb is called so because located in the left side of River Meuse. This suburb is famous for being the birthplace of writer Georges Simenon and for the fair that took place on 15th August, Day of Assumption each year.

The Omk Cinema opened in 1922 and closed in 1964. Its programming was commercial, ranging from Fernandel films to westerns. The other cinemas of the suburb were the Roxy Cinema(former Apollo Cinema and Cineclair) and the Crosly Outremeuse Cinema.
