The Aberdeen Theatre was situated in Aberdeen Centre in Aberdeen on the Hong Kong Island. Aberdeen Centre is a private housing estate. The theatre opened to business on 22nd January, 1982 with a Cantonese comedy, and showed first run Chinese dialect films until it closed in 1994.

The UA Aberdeen Cinema was converted from the Aberdeen Theatre, and the former 859-seat stalls only auditorium with stadium seating in the rear part was bisected and refurbished. The cinema opened on 18th December, 1996, and showed first run films until its closure in the early-2000’s. It claimed to be the newest theatre in Hong Kong in its advertisements in the English language newspaper South China Morning Post.

The former cinema has been converted into part of a supermarket.
