Located in the heart of London’s West End at Piccadilly Circus, on the first floor of the Trocadero Building on Great Windmill Street. The Pigalle Cinema on Coventry Street was operated by the same management.

The Cinema XXX was operating as a hard-core unlicenced sex cinema in the mid-to-late-1970’s. It actually used the same projectionist as the Pigalle Cinema.

The Cinema XXX was closed in around October 1978, and was demolished in the re-development of the Trocadero centre. The site is adjacent to the original entrance of the Cineworld multiplex in the Trocadero Centre, now Picturehouse Central.

In 1975, a second Cinema XXX opened in Macclesfield Street in Soho’s Chinatown.
