1948 Grande

The Grande Theatre opened on June 11, 1948 with Marshall Thompson in “Gallant Bess”. Seating listed at 697. It was operated by Leon Theatres of Dallas and was a Spanish language movie theatre in 1952-1953. The theatre for some time was operated by H.S. Theatres. The Grande Theatre closed in 1969 and has since been converted to retail. Vacant in 2021.

Was in the recent past a bead store, is now lonely and forlorn, desolately vacant.
