The Chateau Theatre opened in 1932 with seating listed at 480. The Chateau Theatre had a varied life with operators, Franklin Theatres was at the helm on several occasions as well as Associated Theatres and finally operated by Frank and Woempner when it closed.

The Chateau Theatre closed in 1961. It has been converted into a church, Grace Temple Ministries.

I thought this church looked too much like a theatre, and so went through property tax documents and old aerial photographs to confirm or deny this. The church building pictured in the street view image is indeed the old Chateau Theatre building. Still here, NOT demolished!
