The Strand Theater is listed at 102 Main St S. in the 1939 Polk’s City directory. The Town Theater is listed at 102 Main St S. in the 1957 Minot phone book. Even earlier than that, a “Lyceum” theater was at that address.

Launched May 23, 1908 as the Lyceum Theatre. On September 24, 1919, the theatre was given a facelift a new name: the Strand Theatre showing D.W. Griffith’s “Hearts of the World.”
