Opened by Village Cinemas chain as the Golden Twin Theatre on 28th December 1975, it was designed by SMA Architects. It later became the Bendigo Village Golden Twin and around 1993 a third screen was added and it was renamed Bendigo Cinemas in 1997 when it expanded to five screens. The Bendigo Cinemas is now a modern 7-sceen multiplex serving the gold mining town of Bendigo, north of Melbourne.

Opened as Golden Twin Cinema with 2 screens on 28th December 1975. Name later changed to Bendigo Village Golden Twin, and then Bendigo Cinema Twin. 3rd screen (1993?). Name changed to Bendigo Cinemas in 1997 and 5 screens added. Cinema 1 460 seats, cinema 2 - 333 seats, cinema 3 - 182 seats, cinema 4 - 113 seats, cinema 5 - 113 seats, cinema 6 - 113 seats, cinema 7 - 221 seats.
