Opened as a twin on September 1, 1976, the theatre grew over the years by taking over neighboring space in the shopping center including an old bank and thrift store on February 13, 1987 when a 3rd screen named the Plaza was opened. On April 21, 1989 it expanded to five screens.

The theatre closed in 2000 so that the shopping center could make plans to demolish and replace it with a big box Staples store.
