Norman Rydge (chairman/managing director of Greater Union) can be seen standing left of doorway taking part in the opening ceremony.
Mini Bio - In 1937, Norman Rydge has appointed as chairman/managing director, bringing Greater Union, after some earlier losses, a modest profit in 1939 and further growth during the Second World War. Norman Rydge was a 37-year-old accountant in that time; he had been one of Australia’s leading tax consultants.
