Mr. Grant Raulerson opened the Outdoor Drive-In south of town circa 1952. In 1957, he announced plans to build an import-export shop on the property. Whether that ever materialized or not is currently unknown and the drive-in went dark circa 1962.

The property is currently a mobile home park.

Could the Drive-in had a name change? I have a Palm Drive-in there in 1956.

It might be listed under Clearwater, Florida. The Palm later became the Ulmerton, which I added today as well.

The Outdoor theatre was built in the 50’s. My grandfather purchased it(Jimmy and Julia Raulerson had several Indoor and Outdoor theatres along with extend family throughout the decades in Florida.) and he hired my father Grant(his son)to run the Outdoor theatre after he return from the Korean War. The Outdoor theatre was also a home. My father married the love of his life, Genevieve and had 3 children while working at the theatre. Yes, my father did have a import/export on the property before the outdoor theatre was sold and it turn into a mobile home park. In fact going south on Clearwater/Largo Rd pass Belleair Rd just before the curve on the west side the Outdoor theatre in and out (½ moon drive) is still there. https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&q=1654+Clearwater-Largo+Road,+Largo,+FL+33756&ie=UTF-8&hq=&hnear=0x88c2f097ea3ae347:0x284194a54e57f102,1654+Clearwater+Largo+Rd,+Largo,+FL+33756&gl=us&ei=F8YbUPXSAqje0QGlo4CgDA&ved=0CAcQ8gEwAA
