Winston-Salem Drive-In

The Winston-Salem Drive-In was open in 1955 with a car capacity listed at 464 cars. It was owned by Porter Garrett McGee, known as ‘Fibber McGee. The manager was Jim Styers. The drive-in closed in the early-1980’s and has since been demolished.

I have a Winston-Salem Drive-in parking only 150 cars in 1956 and it was owned by J.D.Horn.

Approx. address for this drive-in was 4500 Indiana Avenue. Part of this drive-in is now Fed-Ex.

Opened October 4th, 1947, as the first drive-in in town.
