Glendale Cinema  as The Electric Theatre

Located in Caversham, near Reading. The Electric Theatre was opened 25th May 1911 with 500 seats. In the late-1940’s it was renovated and taken over by Harold Baim Cinemas of London, who re-named it the Glendale Cinema.

CinemaScope was intalled in 1955, and a new 24 feet wide proscenium was brought forward from the original one. The Glendale Cinema was closed on 4th June 1977 with James Coburn in "Cross of Iron". It was converted into the New Testament Church of God.
