Biscoe Drive-In

This single screen drive-in was one of two in Biscoe, North Carolina. Parking 200 cars it was Biscoe’s smallest drive-in. It was owned in the late-1950’s by Faw and Goodman.

Open ~1985? Can anyone verify the exact dates?

Need an address or crossroads. More info and photos are always welcome.

I was a projectionist there in the mid 70’s while in high school. If you look at the Google Map link go West (to the left) on highway 24-27. Right about the “24” in the road name. Right across the street from Integrity Recycling in the somewhat clear field. M@M Road is just to the right of where the screen sat. There used to be a 2nd screen in the 50’s about where the mobile home sits on M&M Road.

Bob,

1948 rings a bell for the opening. I know if was post war. Not sure of the closing date as I moved away. 1985 might be correct, but it seemed a little earlier to me.

There was another drive-in between Biscoe and Candor on the east side of 220 ALT near Ball Park Road. Does anyone know what it was named?

NYozoner: The other drive-in in Biscoe was the 220 Drive-In, and I have added a page for it.

This seems to be the first drive-in to be included in the “Famous Theaters” feature on the main page of the Photos Section. There has also been a total change in the selections.
