Movies with musical accompaniment were interspersed with four live performances daily. Opened by the Huddleston Brothers, it was known as “Nickelodeon” at the beginning and later became known as the Ruby Theatre. It was operated by the Ruby Amusement Company and was considered one of the first competitions to the Theatorium, the first nickelodeon in Memphis, which was across the street.
