L.G. Collins built the Amusu Theater at a cost of 20,000 dollars.
The Amusu Theater opened on August 15, 1914. The first films shown were “A Romance of Normandy” and “Circle 17”. Over 4,000 people attended the showings during the first twenty-four hours the theater was open. It was refurbished and reopened on October 4, 1936.
The Amusu Theater was closed in 1962. From February 12, 1971 it reopened screening adult movies. It was demolished in 1979 to make room for a parking garage.
