The Leland Theater was built in 1948 by local businessman Leland Cage. It opened on August 26, 1948 with John Wayne in “Red River”. It had about 500 seats which included an upstairs balcony area.
The theater ceased operations on May 21, 1972 and had been demolished by the end of the decade to make room for a bank parking lot and ATM.
