The Star Theater was in operation from at least 1916 to 1923. It was located in a building constructed in 1903, in The Bush community of the South Chicago neighborhood on Burley Avenue near 84th Street. From the 1920’s at least into the 1960’s, the building was home to a hardware store. Today, the building has been converted into a multi-family residence.
