The Majestic Theatre was opened in the 1930’s, and is located adjacent to the famous Great Southern Hotel which was built in 1936 (now a Chinese department store) in the centre of Chinatown. The centre of the facade is decorated with five Chinese figures, and is framed with a tiled Chinese style border.
The Majestic Theatre was operated by the Cathay Organisation. Today the building is in use as an indoor market.
