A silent-era theatre located on Monterey Square in downtown Wharton, that was opened as early as 1913. Advertisements descibed the Gem Theatre as ‘the theatre beautiful - High class motion pictures and music. 5¢ and 10¢’.
The Gem Theatre closed on July 25, 1925. The last show to play there was “Adventure” with Tom Moore and Pauline Starke.
