- Jun 14, 2012 — REMEMBERING CINERAMA (Part 53: San Jose)
Located across Interstate 280 from its three sister theatres the Century 21, 22 and 23, the Century 24 opened its doors for a July 18, 1968 1:30 pm screening of “Gone with the Wind”.
A wall was built down the middle of the dome and reopened for the public as a twin on June 17, 1973.
In 2006 the Century 24 was separated from her sisters Century 21, 22 and 23 when Century Theatres sold to Cinemark. It was closed in January 2014. It has been converted into the Bethel Church of San Jose.

Does syufy/sywest still own the land?
According to Retrodome: Programming at Century 24 on Winchester (not one of the original trio) will cease at the end of 2013 to make way for a new, top of the line venue built by Syufy Enterprises and operated by Cinemark (the operator of Cinearts at Santana Row).
This is now closed according to its Yelp page and Cinemark page.
Not just closed, but demolished as of January 21st.
Contray to popular belief, THIS IS NOT DEMOLISHED JUST CLOSED AND THE ADDRESS IS VERY WRONG! 🤬
Now Bethel Church of San José California

Please update. I pass by this church still a dome weekly since its closure. Century 22, 23 and 25 are demolished with Century 21 holding on by a thread…stay tuned!
