The Cine Teatro Jandaia was founded on 4th March 1910. Its first owner was the businessman Milton Oliveira, who died in the 1980’s. It was rebuilt in 1931 in an Art Deco style. It was later managed by the company Orient Movies, when it became a movie double feature cinema, playing porn combined with martial arts films.
Permanently closed its doors in 1993. Since then, there have been several attempts to re-open, so far without success.
