Located in the city centre. The Teatro Olympia was opened on 10th November 1915 with a production of the opera “Barber of Seville”. Soon after opening films were being presented when there were no live shows on the calendar.

Seating in the auditorium is provided for 878 in the orchestra and 300 in the balcony. There are side boxes on the side-walls of both the orchestra and balcony levels. It became a full time cinema in 1923, and on 5th February 1930 it presented the sound version of Warner Bros. “Noah’s Ark” after the Teatro Olympia had been equipped with a Western Electric sound system.
