Sterling Recreation Organization (SRO) opened the Lyons Avenue Cinemas on March 22, 1985 behind the K-Mart store.

In December of 1986, as noted in the Daily Chronicle, Cineplex Odeon purchased SRO. By 1992 there was still another change when ACT III Theaters assumed control Of Cineplex Odeon’s theaters in Spokane.

Regal Cinemas, who had run the theater since December of 1998, closed and sold it in June of 2000. One of the stipulations of redevelopment was that it could not be used for a theater in the future so the building has been most recently used as a church.
